American Special Reporter for Fox News, Bret Baier was born on August 4th, 1970 in Rumson, New Jersey in the United States of America.
He was born to Pat Baier and Bill Baier. His family is mixed German and Irish origins. Bret Baier is married to Amy Baier and has two children; Paul Francis Baier and Daniel Baier.
He w as raised a Catholic and graduated in 1988 from Atlanta, Georgia’s Marist School, a private Roman Catholic secondary school.
Later, Baier enrolled in the Methodist DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where he earned a BA in political science and English in 1992. He joined the Sigma Chi fraternity at DePauw and joined the Xi Chapter.
He works as the host of the Fox News Channel’s Special Report with Bret Baier and also serves as the network’s top political correspondent. Prior to this, he served as the network’s chief Pentagon and White House correspondent.
In 2007, he was appointed as the White House correspondent for Fox News, where he covered the George W. Bush administration. He started filling in on Fridays for Special Report anchor Brit Hume in the fall of 2007.
Before joining WRAL-TV, then a CBS affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina, Baier started his television career with a regional station WJWJ TV16 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
In 1998, he sent Fox News an audition tape, and the network hired him to run its Atlanta bureau. He traveled from Georgia to Arlington, Virginia, on September 11, 2001, to cover the Pentagon attack.
He was hired as the network’s Pentagon correspondent, never returned to the Atlanta bureau, and spent five years in that position, making 11 trips to Afghanistan and 13 to Iraq.
On December 23, 2008, Hume revealed that Baier would take over as Special Report host and anchored his farewell episode. On January 5, 2009, he hosted his first program as the permanent anchor.
On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in October 2021, Baier discussed his newly released book To Rescue the Republic: Ulysses S. Grant, the Fragile Union, and the Crisis of 1876.

His son, Paul Francis Baier was born on June 29th, 2007 with a potentially fatal heart defect but after multiple surgeries, he has recovered from his fatal heart defect. Paul was said to have undergone his sixth successful open-heart surgery on September 19, 2013 before his recovery. Paul is currently fifteen years of age.
Bret and Amy Baier’s other son, Daniel Baier was also born on July 7th, 2010 and weighs 7 lbs. 13 oz. He is the younger son of Bret Baier and his wife, Amy Baier. Daniel is 12 years of age.
